The International Research Group on Wood Protection (IRGWP) is the leading global organization for the dissemination of scientific information on wood protection products. Through worldwide cooperation, IRGWP:

• Facilitates contacts between specialists working in the complex problems of wood protection and durability;
• Publishes more than one hundred documents each year providing valuable information to members and sponsors;
• Organizes, with the help of the local organizing committees, annual conferences and regional meetings with interactive workshops to discuss and disseminate significant research developments;
• Provides support and encouragement to scientists from developing countries to contribute to their research activities and attend conferences.
• Facilitates the participation of young scientists in collaborative research with their work groups by means of the Ron Cockcroft Award system.
